Our company operates a website and a magazine. We have a loyal following.
Both our website and our magazine grow every month, as do our sales. We
are involved in the healthcare industry which is, in many ways, recession
proof.
We are interested in adding video to our portfolio. We need someone to
help with this project and it is either the best job or the worst job you
have ever heard of.
I am going to do my best to describe it as honestly as I can below.
Read this posting carefully before you reply.
We attend about 25 trade shows per year. We need someone who is willing to
travel to all of these trade shows.
At each trade show, you will give a video report each day. The video
report will include what is happening at the trade show, what is happening
on our website and what news is being posted that day on our daily
website. You will also interview trade show attendees and exhibitors.
You will be on camera. You will be the face of DOTmed.
You will have to dress professionally and conduct yourself professionally
at all times.
You will also need to set up the camera on a tripod and snag people walking by
and invite them to come in and express their opinion about interesting
topics that relate to the trade show, the industry or healthcare.
We have people to help you come up with the list of questions to ask and
you will have the opportunity to come up with questions of your own, if
you are able to do so.
You will have to write little summaries on each interview and send them
back to the office so someone in the office can do the editing and create
something that looks nice enough to be displayed on our website. That is
the reporter and producer side, as well as the camera operator side.
There is also a managerial/secretarial side because you are going to have to be in
charge of all of our trade shows, work with management to figure out who
is attending what trade show and why, what hotel we are staying at, what
kind of furniture we are buying and so forth.
In a way, it is like you are the Trade Show Manager/Secretary.
If this works like we think it is going to, then we will hire someone to
help you. But for the time being, everything is going to be on your head.
You have to organize everything, think of everything, remind everybody and
pretty much do everything.
There are always other people at the booth. Some of them are sales people
and they are only thinking about making sales, although they will help you
a little. We also have staff reporters there.
I am the President of the company and I am the only one who really wants
to pull this project off. Everybody else has enough work to do, including
myself. I am looking for someone that is interested in this type of
activity and that is turned on by it.

email on the phone so if you send me an attachment, I will just delete the
whole email. HOWEVER, if you have video clips of yourself and can put a link
in the email to them, do that.
3. Please give me a couple of paragraphs explaining why you think you are
the right person for the job.
4. Give me a little history on yourself.
5. I am really open to any person of any age but you have to be computer
literate, comfortable traveling, in possession of a US passport,
articulate, resourceful and a take charge person who is afraid of nothing.
I recognize that this is a tall order and my colleagues think I will never
find anyone. I figure I have nothing to lose by trying so I am placing
this ad.
